Genesis 21:19

Genesis 21:19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. (KJV) This is a text from the story of Hagar and Ishmael Abraham’s son. After they had been sent away from Abraham’s home, they ran out of water while in the wilderness. God hears the voice of Ishmael, not Hagar, because she is not part of his covenant. He then opens her eyes to see a well that had always been there. It is not when she saw it that it appeared. That well was always there, but she couldn't see it. Why? She was spiritually blind. She didn't have a covenant with God. This makes me ask myself, how many things do we have a lack of in life and can't seem to get them, yet they are right before our eyes, but we can not see or access them? Like I already mentioned, if you are not in Christ (covenant), there are certain things you will not be able to see. I Corinthians tells us that some things are spiritually discerned. If it wasn't for Ishmael, Hagar would never have seen this well, and she would have died of thirst, yet the provision was already there. Secondly, the depth of your relationship with God also determines what and how much you see. God reveals things to seekers. If you are not actively seeking, there are many things you might never see, yet they are right before you. Revelation of the word. The more the word opens itself to you, the more you see the once hidden things. Faith is another thing that opens your eyes to a world of possibilities and provision. By faith, we know, by faith we see, by faith we walk and by faith we receive! FURTHER STUDY: Genesis 21:1420, I Corinthians 2:14, Jer 29:1213 PRAYER Father, I thank you for the covenant that I have with you. By this covenant, I have rights and access to the spirit world. Open up my eyes to see the things that you have already provided for me in and through Jesus Christ. Amen!

THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE NOT AUTOMATIC

Matthew 11:12

Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (KJV) There are many times in my life when I wished and hoped God could just do for me whatever I want without me having to believe or stand on the word or wait to see it come to pass. This often happens when I think I have believed yet are not seeing the results. (This is not how we should live). After receiving some encouragement later, I choose to believe again and often receive what I believe for. But my point is, humans naturally prefer things given to them on a silver plate without the effort of having to believe or wait, and yet it is impossible to please God without faith. The promises of God, the benefits Jesus died on the cross for you to have, do not happen by accident! If God’s will came to pass automatically, everyone would be healthy, rich, prosperous, righteous, happy, good, name it. In fact, there would be no evil in the world, and you would live in perfect peace and prosperity. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world that has been corrupted by sin and suffers the negative effects of the poor choices made by mankind. So, for any promise of God to come to pass in your life, you have to cooperate with Him in faith and take it by force! When you find a promise in the word of God, you have a responsibility to take it, believe it, declare it, and act on it. See that promise coming to pass in your life, and surely it will because the Bible says, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. You are what you are seeing and believing in your heart. Take your authority today, command those things that are not right to align themselves rightly, command that sickness to die and leave your body, force those lies out of your life and enforce the promises of God in your life! FURTHER STUDY: 2Corinthians 1:20, Proverbs 23:7 PRAYER Thank you, Father, for opening my eyes to areas in my life that I have been reluctantly believing you. Thank you that you empower me to use my authority today to enforce your power in my life. I take your promises by force and see them come to pass in my life in Jesus' name, Amen!

WHY SOME GROW AND OTHERS DON'T

Acts 17:11

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (KJV) Have you ever wondered why a group of people may sit under the same teacher, hear the same word within the same environment, but some grow and others don't? Well, today, we are going to handle only two of the reasons why this happens. Both reasons have been given in our theme scripture. The first one is: They received the word with all readiness of mind. The state of your mind matters when you listen. A steady, clear, eager, and set mind will receive and retain a lot more than a casual, clouded, and double mind. Some people, when the word is being shared, their minds are all over the place, thinking of every other thing but the word being taught. Such a mind can not receive let alone retain. The second reason is that they went an extra mile of searching the scriptures daily to see if the things that were taught were so. You have to go beyond just listening to reading, studying, and searching the scriptures for yourself. In so doing, you receive revelation and a deeper understanding of the word, which enables growth. It is good to listen and learn but do not just rely on what you hear from other people's revelation of God, go get your own and build on the foundation that other noble men laid. FURTHER STUDY: 2Timothy 3:1417, Proverbs 4:2022, 2Timothy 2:15 PRAYER Lord Jesus, thank you that I am of them that receive the word with readiness of mind, and I study your word to get more depth from it. My mind is free from all confusion, and I daily grow in you and in your ways in Jesus' name, Amen!

THE WORD SHOULD FIRST WORK FOR YOU BEFORE YOU SHARE IT

Romans 2:21

Romans 2:21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? (KJV) Many of us when we get born again, we tend to get very excited and after a while, we desire to share the gospel with others which is a good thing, but before you can go out to share your convictions from the word with others, the word should have first worked in you and produced results. Our theme scripture talks of those who teach others before having taught themselves. You tell others to do things that you yourself are not doing. People learn more from what they see than what they hear. You easily remember a visual picture better than words spoken. I believe that's why a person can easily retell a movie watched than what the teacher or preacher taught. Romans 2:24 says, 'For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written' (KJV), meaning that your character and actions speaks more to people than the word of God that you are sharing. Do a self reflection today. Do my actions reflect Christ and cause people to accept him? Do my words minister grace and peace? Does my health show that by his stripes, we were healed? Do I give like the creator of the universe is my God and supplier? Is love my response to everything? Let us determine today not to let the name of our God be blasphemed and made light of because of our un renewed minds and lack of walking in and by the word of God through faith. FURTHER STUDY: 1Corinthians 15:33, Romans 2:1825 PRAYER Oh Lord Jesus, I totally surrender myself to you to help me act what I preach. Help me to change the things in me that cause your name to be despised, especially among those who don't believe. Help me to view your word as truth that can set me and the people I share with free. I thank you because your word is daily transforming me in Jesus' name, Amen!

GODLY WEALTH: THE EASY WAY

John 4:38

John 4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.(KJV) Not all wealth acquisition has to be through hard, long, difficult, and stressful labour whose fruits can only be seen after years and years of stringent savings and accumulation of property. Our main verse tells us of men who entered into finished products, they reaped where they did not sow. YES There is a grace that causes you to enter into what you did not work for. Joshua 24:13 tells us how God gave the Israelites lands they did not labour for, cities they didn't build, vine yards they didn't plant. Only God knows where this grace is. The verse says, ''I sent you to reap'' when you walk with God, He will lead you to those graces. The Psalmist says he leads me to green pastures. The leading is his, and he knows when you are ready to handle such graces. This not only applies to your finances but to your ministry, marriage, business, family, and relationships as well. You don't have to always struggle to attain you can attain from a place of rest. Dare to start believing God for such possibilities, and you shall find. I encourage you to seek after God wholeheartedly, not for what he can do but for who he is, when your heart is right, he will open up these treasures unto you and such blessings will come and overtake you. Hallelujah! FURTHER STUDY: Psalms 23, Jos 24:13 PRAYER Lord, I am grateful for the grace that you have bestowed upon me. I am invited to reap where I did not labour, I am given houses I did not build all because of your favour in my life. My desire to know you grows greater than my desire to pursue the things you can give, all this for the glory of your name. Amen!
